Supporting wide-ranging care needs
Our team has significant experience working with young people who are making the transition from residential care to independent living. We can help young people with varying needs, including:
- autism spectrum disorder
- learning difficulties
- substance abuse
- criminal behaviour
- self-harming
- gang involvement
- attachment disorders.
We celebrate diversity and encourage young people to share their unique strengths and talents and express their individuality.
Contact usPreparing for independence
Each resident has a support worker who provides advice, guidance and help with goal setting.
Through weekly reflective sessions, the young person can reflect on who they are today and the person they want to become – helping them to understand how the choices they make today will ultimately shape their future lives.
Gaining essential life skills
During their time with us, young people develop their practical skills, such as cooking and budgeting, to help prepare for fully independent living. They can also access lots of helpful information on:
- future accommodation
- education and training
- financial support
- healthy relationships
- mental health support.
Helping a child achieve their dreams
Our team members act as ‘positive parents’, listening closely to the needs, wishes and feelings of our children. Each young person is encouraged to make an active contribution to their pathway plan. We regularly review progress and work with external partners to meet and exceed each young person’s support needs.
The level of support is agreed with the local authority and reviewed regularly.
